Türkiye - Turkey

First ever pottery in history of the world was produced in Anatolia. Çatalhöyük was the first place that it happened. - 6000 BC

Eonian culture potteries are mostly produced in Anatolia and they are in multitude museums all around the west side of Turkey

Anatolian museums have Roman empire potteries, these potteries are in multitude cities where roman empire were in. 

Byzantine empires unique potteries were in its capital Constantinople which is today Istanbul. These potteries are in museums at Istanbul. 

Chine (maybe same as underglaze decoration, in turkish "Çini") pottery was largely produced during meny centuries under Ottoman Empire period. They can be seen in many palaces and mosques where Ottoman empire ruled: Balkans (east Europe), Crimea (Ukraine), North Africa, Arabic Peninsula.

  • 1884 - Caldos da Reinha - Rafael Bordelo opened a factory
    • Alcobaça town ceramics are blue

    • Barcelos rooster (horoz) is very famous
    • Also religious and festive figurines on ceramics
  • Coimbra ceramics
    • contain hunting scenes and arabic influence
    • 15th, 17th and 18th century ceramics
  • Azulejo tiles
    • Azulejo tiles decorate everywhere of the city churches, monasteries, palaces, park seats, fountains and train stations
    • Azulejo means in arabic roots: "small polished stone"
  • on 18th century no country was producing as much tiles as Portugal
